I am a little disappointed. The book sounds fantastic. But already I have most of the models; that previously they were published in the magazine of JOAS and books of JOAS conventions. I thought that the book would contain new models or models that are in his Web, but which they had not been diagramed.

The book is now for sale on the origami-usa website for $50. I don't have any of those models diagramed so I'll be ordering this book.

So far I've only made the Splash! (swan), the yellow bird, the unicorn and the wizard. The diagrams are pretty clear and easy to follow so I didn't find the models very difficult. It just takes a very long time to fold them because they're very complex. I guess it will be the same with the ancient dragon.

I started on the dragon yesterday evening. I was folding all night (literally) and I'm still not even halfway. The paper is thick already and I still have lots of sinks to do. I'm guessing it will turn out pretty crappy and that I'll have to find some better paper :(

I didn't rip the paper if that's what you mean. It's just that all the folds become a bit inaccurate and hard to keep in the right place with the paper I'm using :)

I cut a square out of a roll of kraft paper that I found lying in my house. (50x50 cm) It's rather thick though, but I haven't finished the model yet so I don't know exactly how it will turn out.

hi
i am going to fold the ancient dragon in the next few days...
i´ve already folded the divine dragon(looks great), the smilodon(quite easy) and the barosaurus...
the models are not bad...
but i hope that takashi hoiyo is going to make a book...
has anyone of you folded sibaraku or the god of thunder from hoiyo yet?
