Kamiya's book
Ignoring the ongoing inanity...
I just got Kamiya's new book in the mail. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he and I design in a very similar fashion (intuitively), and that he has a similar attitude towards diagramming as I do. Of course, our styles are very different, and he's much more talented than I am. Plus he's got someone cracking the whip to make him diagram, too.
It just goes to show that talent is a great benefit to designing origami models, but it is not crucial.

I just finished the ancient dragon for the first time. The paper turned out to be way too thick. The back is completely open (even the spikes on the head) and the legs look terrible, they're so thick that I can't shape them at all. But I still think the thing looks pretty cool. I'll need to work on the wings some more to keep the two layers from coming apart, and maybe I can flatten the legs a little bit with the use of a very large hammer
Oh, and maybe a piece of paper with one colour on both sides would be helpfull as well.
