Re: ORIPA
Exactly, that's what I meant with my last post. The strangest thing is that the cp's are drawn in Oripa, then exported as .OBJ and then Orihime (sometimes) can fold what Oripa can't.PleatBox wrote:Can Orihime solve cps that oripa cant? just wondering

"sometimes" is a good expression

Re: ORIPA
Can anybody draw a crease pattern for my design? I have made a hand-drawn cp but cannot use Oripa at all.. it's based on 22.5 degree but I just don't get how to draw those things on Oripa..
Would be great if anyone could do that for me..

Re: ORIPA
I'm having a problem with the Oripa angle bisectors operation... it's taken me an hour to get that line that I can fold in 2 minutes..I should send her an email.
She should allow for pinches and other guide folds that aren't in the final c.p they could be grey ..or faded
I've been clicking three points plus a line and still can't get a simple half triangle..
Frustrating as buying any new gizmo...kids love this sort of thing

Re: ORIPA
It's hard to judge exactly what problem you're having, but the vertex of the angle needs to be the second point you select. In addition, the line you select can't lie on the angle itself.
The tool will draw the bisector only until the crease would hit the selected line.
An alternate solution is to use the angle/length tool to draw a segment at the needed angle. One drawback is that doing so requires a bit of math.

Re: ORIPA
Thanks...for your assistance..
I've been playing on it for about 10 hours and I've found ways to get the lines that don't fall in an immediate grid vertices ..some go down the centre.... I didn't say this...is just to double or triple the grid size ..
I am getting there ..it's a gradual process
And I know they'll be another update in the new year

Re: ORIPA
You can delete the edges of the square, then redraw them by changing crease lines to "cut"

Re: ORIPA
You can save as a .svg which then can be used in Inkscape.

Re: ORIPA
Code: Select all
The first is trying to import files .it is possible but it only specifies certain types of file.jpgs and pngs not able to be imported.
Secondly how do i superimpose or overlay a grid after ive saved my c.p?
Re: ORIPA
I think in order to import, it has to be an oripa file.
As far as the grid, you can go to the gear icon in the top (second from the right), and then "show grid," after which you can specify the division number and grid type.

Not sure if this topic is still active.
Oripa 0.36 has an extra feature to apply the Kawasaki-Maekawa theorem to a vertex by making it flat foldable. But whenever I click on a vertex it just extends one of the folds in the vertex. On very rare occasions it adds the ‘missing crease’. What is the trick to do it right?
