Functional Origami Challenge: Postcard Holder

Post by trevyn »

Ok, so I have some postcards that I want to display vertically, and all the holders I can find are tacky acrylic. So I thought, why not make the holder out of the postcards themselves?

Only it turns out I have no clue what I'm doing. So I need help.

I'm looking for something simple to hold the cards upright, roughly like this, but for larger cards, in a vertical orientation. I'm thinking a roughly 0.6"-1" deep card shelf/pocket.

Bonus points for a little integrated pen holder, so I can stick some pens in there for people to take and write on the postcard with.

The cards are 4.25" x 6", pretty heavy stock. There's a logo on the top 0.66" of the card (when held vertically), so if you can work that in somehow, that's cool. If not, no big deal.

I'm looking for something pretty durable and easy to assemble lots of. No particular restrictions on cutting/gluing, but the quicker to put together the better. Using multiple cards to build one holder is fine.

I can offer a $25 PayPal reward to my favorite design, if you can show me how to make it. :D
