Smells like math....Must be math

Post by shawn »

Hello everyone. I have a question of anyone who may be mathy. As I am asking this question, you can probably guess that I am really not a mathy person so please try to dumb it down a bit for me....so here goes.

I was looking at Kamiya Satoshi's crease pattern for the pheonix v3.0 and on the top of it there is a line in the Japanese that says: (2v2)-2:2:2:1+v2.
What does this mean? I know what square roots and such are, but I don't quite understand how these fit in with everything.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I never undrerstood these iether but,

I am pretty sure it is a way of finding out the fractions the paper is split into.

So if there is a valley crease going thtoughtthe paper that has no guidline you can workout where it is mathmatically using these figures
