Mitsonobu Sonobe - Sonobe Units

Post by stuckie27 »

I trying to construct the 270 unit sonobe bucky ball, or truncated icosahedron, or soccer ball. I want it to be symetrically colored but I have found no ways to do this.

Any body know how?

i have done this allready - the easyiest way to design your ball, is to take a finished one, and reproduce it with something like photoshop - on this way you could create a pattern with units.. wich you could repeat symetricaly!

ok, what i mean:

make a picture of a finished version (or take one from the net)..

now comes the triky part - take a paint-program like photoshop
and replace the colors of the finished sonobe ball with the colours that u want to use..
after a while u whill see how the finished version will look (u dont have to paint all units of the ball- u see the result allready at the half or so)

hope u understand.. my english is not the best
