I like the diagrams what are drew by pencil more(as David Brill's book). But it's not easy to preserve and share.
Now I draw diagrams by program Corel Draw 13, it's very easy to learn and use (my friend teached me only about 30min~1h for all useful functions) , and good enough to draw nice every diagram.

I prefer hand-drawn diagrams as I hardly know how to use the computer programs, only knowing how to draw basic bases using visio.

I like going by pencil and paper most (on the rare occasions I do diagram lol ) because I find its quickest and easiest for me to work with
buuuut I don't often even finish diagrams and they don't really turn out all too great when done in pencil so for when I want to make them look all nice, I use inkscape

Before I discovered Inkscape, I used Word to draw diagrams. If I had started with Inkscape first, I probably would find Word pretty frustrating, but because I used it so much, I was able to churn out some pretty decent diagrams. If there weren't better free options out there and MS Office was all you had, I would still recommend it.

Re: Your favorite diagramming software
I have personally used pen and paper for a while now, but I'm now starting to try out Inkscape with this video:
from @jonakashima. Seems pretty cool.

Re: Your favorite diagramming software
Thank you xun2000. I've tried diagramming any of my models because I thought it would really hard and timeconsuming to get any good with drawingprogram to make it work. But looking at this video it seems an easy to learn program. I might just give it a try.
