doodling

Post by TheRealChris »

may I ask a stupid question? what is doodeling? I always thought, it was something like "drawing your diagrams", coming from Lang's program doodle. but in the last time I'm not that sure anymore. I also heard, it was a word for "free folding" (without diagrams or knowing what will come).
so what's the truth?

In common usage, "doodling" means that you're simply drawing things randomly, without a clear aim in mind (like, when you're on the phone, and start scribbling on the message pad without knowing what you're really drawing)

In the origami context, it means to fold without a goal; rather, at each step you just perform a random type of fold.

"Diagramming" is the process of drawing diagrams (although I normally call that "procrastination").
