I think Paulius used it to fold his danboard. So, it'll be perfect if it was.

Actually, he said several times that it was Ikea Kraft. And the final look of the model really depends on the folder-not the paper. You can have crappy papers but still have amazing folds, but the same is vice-versa. You can have incredible papers and be a crappy folder. Each go hand and hand. I'm sure most of the amazing folds aren't made with the best papers ever, they probably were just folded extremely carefully in the hands of skilled folders

Looking at the model in question, I'm guessing the 28gsm Kraft (I'm assuming that's what you mean) will be a bit flimsy due to the 3d nature of the model unless there are a lot of layers in the boxy bits?

so, we come to the conclusion that it won't be good for folding the danboard. What paper would you guys recommend?

I think it'll be too thick. (Don't know the weight of the paper, But seeing some people saying that Tant is quite thick, I said that)

I will be in Paris later this year. Anyone know where I might find kraft paper suitable for origami in big rolls? Sara of Happy Folding says the paper is commonly sold as gift wrapping paper in Europe, but I can't find an inexpensive source of big sheets in the US. Someone mentioned "BHV" a long time ago on a French site - is that BHV in the Marais?

Origami-shop does rolls OF kraft paper Also 70 x70 specialised papers..the hides... those were excellent For c.ps.....no tearing Or ripping As durable As tant...id stay away from Suttons tissue paper If YOU are heavy handed ..likewise much OF the patterned tissue paper OUT there IS actually For decoupage and paper flowers and wedding favours...those types OF pursuits

My friend gave me some brown 45cm kraft paper from the origami-shop.com and I think it's amazing. It's thin and so far hasn't ripped. It doesn't shape well on it's own because it's really springy, but when I wet fold it by dripping water on it and holding it in place to dry with foil/clothespins, it stays really solid. It also has a nice color for many animals.

I handed out thin Kraft paper(both side same color) and thin color Kraft paper(different color on each side) during my lecture on this year Japan convention and it was a huge hit! I brought about 150 sheets of them(about 55cm^2) and eventually it was all gone before I came back.
If you guys want some of them I am happy to share them! Contact me if you ever visit Japan Convention or Korea Convention.
