Origami Metal

Post by Joe the white »

I was wondering if anyone knew of where to find metal for making origami, like some large mesh or sheet metal.I have already went to http://my.inil.com/~origami/supplies.htm ,but the sizes offered are too small.

Try the art stores - they usually sell rolls of thin aluminium and copper sheeting.

Alternatively, look up the industrial catalogues for metal suppliers.

Or you could get many small sheets and then weld them together. :D

I wish I could...The nearest art store is 200 miles away :?
Industrial catalogues, I'll try to find those.Welding? I could use that arc welder of ours, but I think I'd do more damage than good. :)

Yeah I'd love to fold from mesh.

Shame I can't get hold of any where I'm from :(

Alright, I bought some aluminum mesh from Lowes last weekend and have folded this cat-
This is a variation on Anibal Voyer's cat. If the pictures do not show, go here- http://www.geocities.com/joechar2004/cat.html
