dude c'mon it takes a really long time! have you ever seen a chan diagram before? theres lots of steps with complex drawings and detailed text. im sure its gonna be a good few months before he even has come up with a date to publish it. we need to be patient to get through this so fold something to take your mind off it!!!
this has been a motivational post by

I have only ever seen his diagram for the rose. They were adequate. I am not being impatient, it is just that there hasnt been much visible movement so I was wondering if BC got distracted or other things got in the way.

Don't hold your breath. For a normal publisher these things take time, I'm certain for the Origami House it takes even longer. And yes, it takes a long time to diagram models, especially the sort of complex ones that you guys seem to covet. There are reasons that crease patterns have become so prevalent.

Brian Chan has said recently on his flick photo
http://www.flickr.com/photos/chosetec/6 ... hotostream

Brian said in the comments
"I'll have a section on crease patterns in my upcoming book. (Yeah, I'm still working on it. The water dragon is for the book)"

so it should be out hopefully before 2014

Hi I met Brian at the Lyon convention and he said that he was diagraming the attack of the kraken (roughly the same amount of steps as Kamiya's ancient dragon). He aslo said he was planning on having it out by the start of 2012... thats similar to what he said last year though so don't know what to think. Hopefuly soon!!!

Well, I'll believe it when I see it.
Too many people have promised a release date for me to believe any of them anymore. :P

I'm sure when the book is going to come out someone will post it here, as Bethnor has said similarly for the Hideo Komatsu book.

I still hope that there will be news soon though, just like everyone else.

here is gallery origami house's webpage.

you can see that, as of 5/7/12, they announced that origami fantasy has been discontinued (again). if you scroll back further, a similar announcement was made for origami insects 1. the minute that a tanteidan convention is ready to go to press, they announce it there.

so once again: the minute, the second that chan's book will be ready, they will say so. periodic inquiries here do nothing.

I think the hope is that someone may have heard a "rumour" or the like. Something like "I bumped into Brian at the "such-n-such" convention and he said that he had just one more model to diagram and that he has a publisher lined up and they said ..."

For all we know Brian has entirely dropped the idea of producing a book - as is entirely his right. Or maybe he really has got just one more diagram to go.

Asking here for "news" is not necessarily the same as asking "is it published". Nonetheless I imagine if someone did know something they wouldn't keep it to themselves
