"Spliting points" is "división de PUNTAS" not puntos.

When you said Envelope- and LetterFolds i imagine making an envelope, and the act of fold the letter i thought is like to prepare letter to send it. But thinking again maybe a literal translation express better the idea of folding. So "letter folds" i agree, should be translated like "plegado de cartas" because sound more formal. We don't have a usual word to express this idea in spanish.

About box-pleating i am waiting other suggestion...tableado ...i don't know.

I don't think the term "coil fold" is widely spread and I've seen those models called just spirals. However the term "coil" seems to fit them quite well so why not call them the translation of "coil"? "Pliegues en bobina" doesn't sound that bad to me.

Thanks Brimstone! I think this is close to the kind of folds you like so I trust your word on this :P. I'll ask in the future some Spanish speaking origamists if they already knew a term for this kind of origami to get different options.

Cheers!

Im native spanish speaker. This is the first time i heard about the term.
Pliegues en bobina is ok for me. I also thought in pliegues en espiral, but espiral is another shape.

Thanks Kundalini. I think I prefer "pliegue bobina". Tomoko Fuse uses the term "coil folds" but I'm not sure if she was the first to call them that.

Tato is aJapanese word that refer to a particular type of origami envelopes. The word "tato" is used in English instead of having a different word. I assume that that's also the case in Spanish, also "tato" instead of having a different word. Can you please confirm if I'm right or not?

Thank you in advance!

I guess it might depend on where people are, but you are safe to call it a tato wherever you are.

What's the proper translation of "crease", as a verb, in Spanish? So far I've translated it as "marcar" but that literally means "mark", so I'm not totally convinced.
