Re: Should Shuki Kato make a book?

The name change would make sense.

Diagrams for my stag beetle are now available through OrigamiUSA for $5! You'll need to register on the site of course, which is free. I actually submitted them a couple days ago and am surprised it was reviewed and approved so quickly. The diagrams will still be in the book, but this will be the last fully available set of diagrams until then.

Well, time to make some edits on that Kabutomushi diagram to include mouthparts and I'll probably have to add another 10 steps showing in progress sinks and stuff like that... this will take a while.

Most origami artists are either a perfectionist or obsessive compulsive by nature, there is really no way to avoid it.

Pretty much, If I'm watching a movie I might find myself folding my jeans, or a candy wrapper... For all of these diagrams I'm publishing the best (IMO), most up to date version whenever possible.

Because I posted it on Flickr;
Final steps of the Kabutomushi, updated to include mouthparts:

The real model once again with a bit of reshaping:

The next model I plan on tackling is my giganotosaurus, this will probably be another extremely painful experience.

:roll: Ahh, yes I know what you mean. It can get in the way of my academics which is also pretty annoying. I just need to do something with my hands :P

I'll make it easy for ya: the first step is to fold the diagonal! :wink:

True that. :mrgreen:
I'm in the process of folding a new version of the model with new references which just happen to be much easier to find (90 vs 84). This one will have a slightly longer body, more detail in the head, and a bunch of other little changes if everything goes as planned.

that's good. otherwise, it would have been like one of Lang's infamous "measure and mark these 30 points" models.
