Bionicle

Post by Harpseal »

This topic is for and dedicated to bionicle by lego. Share fun times with bionicle (not too soppy), cheats for the computer games, origami bionicle (super complex) and movie ratings.

Back when it was still a theme (haha I say it like I'm old), I was obsessed with Bionicles. I actually still remember the first set I got when I was 5--it was the green Rahkshi whose name escapes me. Since then, I had bought countless sets (I think nearly 70 in all). But then I used to take them apart and use the pieces to build other stuff, like the 43-foot sea serpent I made when I was 9 or 10. XD

I got a massive limited edition pot of something like 600 pieces meant to design your own when i was 6. Basically lego had accidentally made too many of particular pieces, and had put them in a few 1000 pots and put limited edition on the front to get rid of them, but i thought it was awesome (i still do) and i built on it with my own parts from other kits. I almost break my back every time i get my bionicles out from their cupboard ( of which they take up roughly 40%)

I have many fond memories of constructing bionicles and staging epic battles. I always liked the black bionicles the best, and would usually make them win. I don't have a large number of them, but they were fun to play with, because unlike other action figures, they had more flexibility, could change weapons, and could lose limbs and/or be dismembered without losing the toy.

I still don't like hero factory. I am still yet to find one that is or was truly challenging to build.

Harpseal, for the first time in my life I agree to you(no offense, it's just a fact):
Hero Factory SUCKS!!!
It's clearly a re-do of Bionicle, just waaaay simpler and more stupid!
My little brother really liked them and I was forced to build them for him, but after some time he got bored of them and turned to my old Bionicle. Black Phantom is definetely different from the others, but still super easy.

Back to Bionicle now! I loved them! I think I had about 60 or 70 of them. My first one was a green Bhorok I got when I was about 5. But sadly I missed the Toa Nuva series :(
I think my favorite of all time would be the Toa Metru
When it got around to the Piraka I started to lose interest in them. I thought "how uncool, this spine is horrible" and I did not have any of the Inika or later, except for the Glatorian Gresh and the Barraki Takadox.
I'm sorry for this wonderful line having ended.

Sorry, I had to write something about my early toys, I think I never met somebody else to have collected Bionicle.

Watch the massive "tahu finds hero factory on youtube" saga. It's by a littleish kid and most of it's perfect for all dedicated hero factory haters.
It's a bit silly, and gets dreadful in places, but it follows the story of a toy tahu after hero factory come out.
