You all know Origami, where "ori" means "fold" and "kami" means "paper".
Now I present Origami, where "ori" still means "fold" but "kami" means "hair" !

Well it is not that easy that you can just change the meaning of a word. The Japanese word "oru" means "to fold" and the Japanese word "kami" means "paper". If you want to create a word for folding hair, you have to look up what hair in Japanese means and combine it with the word fold. But to tell the truth the examples on that site don't really look folded to me, more shaped. So you might better look up "to shape" in Japanese and then try to combine those words somehow. Chances are good that whatever you create sounds funny to embarrassing to someone speaking Japanese.

Actually, "kami" also means "hair" in japanese, but the kanji is different (there's also another "kami" that means "God").
That's what makes the pun funny :D
I thought most people here knew that, so I didn't point it out, sorry about that :P

But you're right, it's more like shaping than folding.
However, Origami is a term we use for pretty much everything made out of uncut sheets of paper.
Are gachepapier's masks still Origami ? I'd say yes :)

Plus, hair is a material on which it's incredibly hard to mark a crease.
I'm not sure it would be possible to get any closer to what we call "folding" than that.
So I rest my case : this is not Origami (折り紙), this is Origami (折り髪) :D

I vote we just skip the "folding hair" and instead just go with "folding God".

As long as you don't use hair spray or calipers! :)

That is not folding hair, so it doesn't count.
