Hey, this topic again! I've added on Viola and Church Organ to the list, and dropped Violin, since I last posted in 2008. And I've switched to Music Composition as my major-- it's the only way I could get them to let me keep playing all of them... Soon I'll need to decide what I'm doing for grad school though, they make you choose #-o

Orislater, we should make a metal band! I can do growl vocals after a beer or two

Lol.

I play a little piano.

But my main instruments would be Garageband '11 and FL Studio 10.

... Kinda counts.

I play violin, piano and sing. I'm both self-taught and taught by professionals. By professionals, I mean like church choir directors and public school instructors. With choir, the school ones weren't great but the church one was awesome. She taught us so much about music and singing, as well as being positive. If you totally sucked, she didn't tell you but she'd give you pointers to make you better instead and tell you what your strengths were. The orchestra directors were great. They taught us lots of things, as well. I think all the instruction I received set me up to learn more on my own. With the violin, I'm pretty good but can't do the vibrato thing with my fingering fingers too well because of my RA. I could do fiddle music well, since that isn't prevalent there. With piano, I do pretty good. I do a lot better than anyone else in my family but I don't have a very long reach and my RA sometimes messes things up there. I can sing well... I have a good music ear and when I don't have any dairy, my throat is fine and good for singing (I really need to not have any dairy in my life, I swear).

I'm learning piano and guitar, but I would also like to try cello, violin, and the drums.

One thing I've learned is that instruments will last you forever, as long as you can treat them well. Buying a really nice instrument is somewhat expensive, but it's one purchase that will literally last you a lifetime (or three!). Save up and get it!!

I play piano, trumpet, guitar, the stereo, and I sing.
