I play trumpet. Its been intermediate and its pretty fun. I chose the trumpet because I like jazz and you could do different things with it. I only played for 1 year. Just wanted to ask but does anybody else play trumpet?

I played the piano for 4 years, acoustic/electric guitar for 5 or 6, and bass guitar for about 30 seconds.

 what? 'George Formby' or 'player of everything'? Both are seriously cool people, and neither dramatically more musical than i am.

oh yes! Definitely- 'player of everything' doesn't need to look at chord charts to find guitar chords- he is so good at theory he can invent his own to suit what he needs faster! 8)

Wow. It takes me a few minutes just to find what chord I'm playing along with the Roman numeral and inversion.

Being a classical guitarist, i play chords more often than not, although i don't play many chords you'd find in charts, resulting in the only chords i know are:
A
Aminor
E
Eminor
D
Dminor(sometimes)
G
C
G7
D7
F
A power chord
E power chord
C power chord(sometimes)
D power chord (sometimes)
Errrr........?
That's basically 13.5.

Memorizing chords is a bad idea. Learn the composition of a type of chord and then you can make that tone of chord with any note.

The first thing i did in any guitar lesson ever, was be taught e minor. Then aminor, then d7th, then little g (4th finger on 3rd fret, top 4 strings). Then i was given a piece of music and told to play it. Considering i'd never read music before, it showed the skill of my teacher.

That's because most organists play and serve for churches.
