Aha, I know this one, but I won't reveal all. I'll leave it to you.
The 'mirror' is the key, isn't it, Stuckie ?

Anyway, here's another poser in a similar vein:

I'm a wealthy London businessman/woman and I'm leaving for work.
It's 7.00 am and I have a meeting at 8.00 am, but my journey will take at least 3 hours ! Not to worry I've got plenty of time :?:

Easy, think supersonic flight and time zones.

My meeting's in New York. I've got Concorde parked in my (big) front garden....so, even allowing for flight time of 3 hours, with the time difference I'll be in New York for 5. 00am !!

On second thoughts: I'm rich, (afterall, I bought Concorde)... to hell with work, I'm going back to bed. :D

here's one.

a horse is tied to a 10 foot rope. the horse's food is 15 feet away from the horse. how does the horse reach the food without breaking the rope?

here's another.

a man goes drinking at a bar.
he gets really drunk and starts walking home in the middle of the road. a car comes, the driver sees the man, and stops. the car's headlights are broken, and the streetlights don't work. how did the driver see him?

A Rancher has three sons and 17 horses. In his will is stated that the oldest son gets half the horses, the second oldest a third and the jongest a ninth. Without chopping any horses to pieces, or rounding, how are they devided?
There is a time for everything, that time has been pre-ordained be almighty God. Trust Him, and no harm shall come to you. He will keep you safely inside his loving hands.

A half plus a third plus a ninth adds up to 17/18. So they buy another horse, the sons get 9, 6 and 2 horses respectively, then they sell off the extra.

Okay, this one was popularised by BBC radio 1 (no cheating please!).

What's more evil than the devil; kinder than God; the poor have it and the rich need it?

There is a logical answer!

oh, that´s easy: nothing!

(but I have to confess that my 5-year-old nephew asked me the question some weeks ago ... )

The horse is attached to his rope but he is on one side of his circle. so he is 10 foot from the centre and there is another 10 foot on the other side of the circle. therefore he can move 20 foot. 5 foot to spare 8)

polop: that makes no sense.

The answer is much simpler: the other end of the rope isn't tied to anything.
Yes, I am that Joseph Wu. Not that it really matters. And please call me Joseph or Joe. "Mr. Wu" is my dad. :)

Actually I think that polop's answer is quite clever if you look at it this way:

Code: Select all

| rope = 10 feet | 5 feet |

Horse-------------------------Pole Food

|................distance = 15 feet.............|
So long and keep folding ^_^
