My nickname's about... 8 characters long...

Also, I made it up when I was younger. I had an idea to draw a combination of Death (the grim reaper) and a seraph (six-winged angel), and I wanted to give him a name. Since he was an angel, and also carried a scythe, I used "Lucifer" as a basis, because "Lucifer" means "light bearing" (among others), from the Latin. The Latin for light is "lux".
Instead of bearing light, though, my character bore a scythe, so I looked up the Latin for "scythe", which is "Falx". And because they both end in "x", I decided that the two words could be used in the same way, i.e. I could exchange "Luc" for "Falc" to create "Falcifer" to mean "scythe-bearing".

I didn't pay much concern to whether it was actually correct, but I used it a lot for different sites, and usually it's not taken.
According to Google Translate, though, "falcifer" does translate as "scythe-bearing".

My nickname, Akairyuu is Japanese for Red Dragon; "Aka" meaning red, "ryuu" meaning Dragon and the extra "i" is some sort of Grammer thing that someone said I had to put in from a forum I visited ages ago.

The main reasons why I Called myself Akairyuu is because I'm very into the Japanese culture and language and I, as you may have guessed, am very drawn to Dragons :)
At first I was going to call myself the Japanese name for Blue Dragon , Aoiryuu since blue's my favourite colour but Akairyuu rolled off the tongue better so I just stuck with it.
Flowing from my soul.
To every fold and crease.
Creativity.

the modern einstein

Post by the modern einstein »

My one came just after I had been reading a modern learning article on albert einstein (encouraging schools to convert to visualised learning, as it enables a person to be much more intelligent, than if they were schooled with the current learning system), and then decided to join the forum, so it's completely random inspiration. I then decided, as this name represents me, I may as well label myself as "the modern einstein", even if it may be false advertising as some people think. I do not claim this nickname has any particular relation to my personality or intelligence.

I wanted my nickname to be short, easy to remember and I wanted it to relate to origami. That's how Fold came about.
