Mine is a combination of a lack of imagination and a typo.

i wrote a fantasy novel in my teens. i made up the name of a few holy books for the religions i made up for the world i created so people could occasionally swear by them. one of those books was "the Bethnor." (so people could say things like, "by the Bethnor!").

Mine is my old username on our universty VAX system (talk about some retro-computing) and it has the advantage that basically no one uses it but me. But it was a relatively common naming system and I sometimes get email or messages from people who remember it and might want to reminisce about the good old days of working on the VAX, using TeX to typeset papers (even with images!) and print them out on a laser printer that was the size of a refrigerator...

For the record, I've decided on the pronuncition: funkle

Even some of my teachers call me Harpseal.
Oh, and as a random endnote to this strange post, if my nickname was taken from sort of the same way as bethnor's, my nickname would either be "Vagrayen", "human", or "The Intelligence Division".

My nickname is pretty self-explanatory, when i joined this forum i would be trying to fold something, as would probably be the majority of my posts haha. The ninja avatar is another story altogether haha. I am known as The Ninja, its just kind caught on, some of my teachers call me the Ninja as well. Plus im really good at the game ninja

Do you mean that really strange playground game (way below me, the only reason i remember it is because it was so strange) where you have to slap each other's hands in one movement or are you on about something else?
