Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone has had any success with gerbil integration and what you did to achieve it. I have two female gerbils:
Pepper- 2 year old agouti
Celeste - 10 month-old black

The first day that I introduced them to each other I had them meet in-person on neutral territory. There was some fighting and blood-shed (my poor Pepper!). I am currently using the split-cage method and I have yet to switch the gerbils back and forth to the different separations of the cage. Does anyone have any tips as to how to proceed from where I am now with these two ladies?

Pepper is too old. You should have done it a long time before. Or buy the gerbils from the same litter.

Pepper's litter mate died a few months ago and I wanted her to have new friend (as gerbils are not supposed to be solitary animals). Celeste was the oldest female gerbil I could find to adopt. Anyways- everything's working out okay!
