If anyone knows any MIDP 2.0 (specific type of java) versions of a programming language, linking to them would really be good, thanks!
Ps, i think this is my 1000th post!
MIDP 2.0 is a specification for the use of Java on mobile devices. The only programming language that will be compatible with MIDP 2.0 is Java.

From Wikipedia:
There are several different ways to create MIDP applications: code can be written in a plain text editor, or one can use a more advanced IDE such as NetBeans, IntelliJ (with bundled Java ME plugin), or Eclipse (with plugins such as EclipseME) which has a user interface for graphically laying out any forms you create, as well as providing many other advanced features not available in a simple text editor.

There are IDEs for it, as listed in my previous post.
In case you didn't know, IDE stands for Integrated Development Environment.
An IDE is a set of tools aimed towards programming in a particular language or context.
When I was looking at programming for mobile phones I think I used Eclipse. I never got very far with it all though.

and cool programs!
What I mean is that usually whenever I try to design something with graphics, I really suck at drawing so the Internet is kind of, you know, just there and since it's just a hobby I'm not willing to spend a lot of money on getting something

I am an official style xi animator, if that helps, but that's scratch. I can do graphics but it takes ages. Also, thanks for the lazarus reccomendation, would that allow me to program in the pascal language on my phone then? (I have a t-mobile vibe(E200 if it makes any difference))
You have been really helpful already, thanks!

My phone doesn't have a store, it's flashy and a bit clever but it isn't:
Expensive
Fashonable
Well-known
Common
Recommended
Compatible with anything that fits into any of the catagories above
It does have bluetooth.
Wikipedia does have an article on it so you can find out about it's compatability, i'm not being lazy, i've spent many hours of computer and phone time looking. Jython is the closest i've come, i looked at eclipse and pascal lazarus, neither worked.

I know- it's a sad, geeky and obscure request, what more could you ask for?
I don't mind- i'll find a tutorial for making your own programming language using a java or pascal- or any program that can make MIDlets. Then i'll follow that- which there must be- you get language making tutorials for scratch so you must for all the others! (If there are tutorials like that then surely there must be some published results??)

I've heard of php, but i didn't think it was a programming language. Oh well. Anyway, that's quite an achievement!

It all depends on your definition of "programming".
Things like PHP, ASP, JSP, JavaScript, etc are all scripting languages, generally intended for modifying or generating and displaying dynamic web content.
For example, most forums are powered by PHP.
To me that's still programming, since it's a set of instructions that cause a computer to do something, but to some people it isn't a real programming language unless it compiles into an .exe file.
