Diagrams for the narcissus have been around for a while, but I finally got around to creating an "archetype" model.

What do you mean with archetype model?

It looks incredible by the way :o.

Thanks, Gerardo. The archetype is simply the best example of what a model is supposed to look like based on the diagram.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the color change is painted and not natural from a purist perspective.

Wow, has it been over three years since I posted here? How's everyone doing?
Here's another model that has been diagrammed for a while, but it's my first time putting it together. This is called the "Yuka Spiral Rose." Original model. Diagrams are available in the blog link below, including leaf, calyx, and bud.

This is a giant surprise LeafPiece! Welcome back :).

The roses look amazing. Love the rose bud! I'm glad you haven't stopped making origami flowers :D. Have you checked out Yara Yagi's latest models?

Thank you both for the comments. I take very long breaks, for sure, but I don't stop folding :). The roses are a piece of ikebana I want to put together soon.

No, I haven't seen that yet. Thanks for the share. Those succulents are pretty great!

While I'm at it, here are the leaves again.

Ah, it finally came together using the above components. Origami ikebana, following the Heika style.

Very elegant, and a nice departure from the frequent online fare of dragons, grotesques, and super complex studies in reptile anatomy. (Though I find them all fascinating just the same.)
Question: Have you considered folding fabric for some of your models? I'm struck how the range of colors, textures, and patterns available could enhance the appearance of some of your lovely work.
I like folding fabric as well as paper and was curious.

Thank you both for your comments, and sorry for the late response.

Never tried it! What kind of fabric do you fold, and is it a challenge to hold a crease? I usually achieve whatever color and texture I'm looking for by painting the paper.

This original Dutch Iris model has been around for a while, but it doesn't look like I've included it here in the gallery before. Here it is by itself, and in an ikebana arrangement. Most is diagrammed, except for what I call the "leafless autumn olive" (small white flowers).
