Ramiel

Post by Ramiel »

Hi! This is everything (notable) I've folded so far! I've been folding for about a year and a half, and I'm 14. I haven't designed anything of my own yet, but I'd like to make an overlord from Starcraft II (pictures). I'm just starting to fold from cps as well. Anyway, here is my stuff :)

Well, you can fold, for sure.
The first models look clumsy and I think that they would have looked better if you would have picked a different kind of paper. I, for one, don't really like Japanese foil because I've seen a lot of rumpled models folded from this kind of paper. Plus, it's too shiny.

You can see the difference when you look at the last models folded from the tissue foil from origamishop. Great folds. Choose your paper carefully.

I completely agree :)

The first few are clumsy in part because they were the first things I had folded aside from some paper airplanes and a crane or whatnot, but also because the washi i was using was very soft, and barely held its shape.. I certainly agree they could use better paper, at the time I bought it I was pretty new to origami and didn't know what to get :). After my AP tests in a couple weeks I'll have time to do more origami, and I'm going to experiment with making my own double tissue.

EDIT. I do think though, that Splash! Turned out well with Japanese foil :). To me those wrinkles look like water, but I might be biased since its my fold :P
Thank you for the feedback!

If the washi is soft, you can always mc treat it. There are several topics about mc and backcoating, Just look in the paper area of this forum. You can find it as wallpaper paste, wheat starch, and bookbinding glue. Also, cmc works, and makes a stiffer sheet.

Great folds! They got better as they went along! Also your folding style reminds me of one of my friend's.
About to start start Ryujin (test-folding at the moment)
