origamifan11's gallery

Post by origamifan11 »

Hello fellow folders, I have decided to make this gallery to showcase my models folded with paper I recently bought from origami-shop. I have been folding for a year so my models aren't too good. To start this off here is a Rhino designed by Noboru Miyajima Image
It was made from a 50cmx50cm sheet of Rhino-hide and was wetfolded.

Here is my fold of Nguyen Hung Cuong's eagle

Folded from a 60cmx60cm sheet of tissue foil. Unfortunately it doesn't stand. I'm still happy with it as it is my first try.

Good for a first try!
If you reenforce feet by MC, it will stand.

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately I can't find any MC at home or at shops.

There are numerous good on-line stores where you can buy MC. I'll list a few here:
http://www.amazon.de/x/dp/B000QB2ZXI
http://www.dickblick.com/products/linec ... -adhesive/
http://www.origamipapermonster.com/meth ... se-powder/

Often a more affordable alternative is wallpaper paste that contains cellulose. You have to look around a bit to find this, but it is very cheap and well worth the effort.
As you live in Australia, something suitable might be like this:

A good thread to refer to about MC is:

You could also always use some carpenter's wire or a pointed dowel which is attached to the model drilled into a wooden stand. This would also be suitable as the eagle is in a flying pose already.
