Had a go with Oripa today, still getting my head round it but managed a cp of the koi I've been working on, just for fun
Image Spent ages trying to work out the swivel folds. I've not really done any maths since I dropped out of school so if anybody knows a quick way of doing arbitrary swivel folds in oripa please let me know! :)

Been working on some simple box pleated designs lately, both to improve me CP folding abilities as well as my design abilities.

Here is what I came up with yesterday while flying around the country for work. Plane rides are so boring.

I am starting to understand design a little better. I never really understood why people made box pleated designs based on goofy 20 x 20 or whatever grids when 8x8, 16x16, 32x32 ect. are so much easier to fold. I kind of see now though. Depending on the ratios of flaps to no flaps that you require for a given subject, sometimes an odd grid just works better.

Hold ctrl while making a lin. That'll allow you to make arbitrary lines that ends on an existing line or an edge. Hope that helps!

@Swapnil

Your crane is really nice. But you should work on it and try to make it more perfect.
I know the most fun it is to make the first attempt but if you work on it hard you can get a much better result.
Good luck ;)

Thanks, Alex! :D Yeah, I know that, the wings look quite ugly. But I've refolded the model. New pictures will come tomorrow. :)

Designed a Weta. I don't have a camera with me to post a pic of the model yet, but here's the CP:

The model should be up soon.

Thanks for the tip, Swapnil, that will come in useful! Finding the angles to make it flat foldable was my biggest problem, but it was fun figuring it out :)
