Re: BlueFireOrigami's Gallery
Thanks for the comment Gerardo.
Yeah I got the paper for the tarantula in Japantown, San Francisco on holiday. It's a sort of metallic, spray painted piece of mulberry. It got a bit thick to the end, but it is great for shaping and has a nice finish.
I am currently on step 90 of cyclommatus metallifer by Kamiya Satoshi. I will post a picture soon.

Re: BlueFireOrigami's Gallery
I have completed Kamiya's Cyclommatus Metallifer.
I know the result is a bit scrappy, but it is a difficult model and I am proud I have managed to fold it!

Re: BlueFireOrigami's Gallery
What kind of paper are you using? It seems like normal foil paper and printer paper, which aren't appropriate for the level of complexity of the models you presented. You should try making tissue foil, it's easy to make and good for most complex models.
Other than the limitations of the paper you're using, your folding is very good. Being able to finish such intricate models at such a young age is impressive.

Re: BlueFireOrigami's Gallery
Thank you Nepafarius,
Yes, I am using foil paper and what was described as 'test sheets' on origami shop (which is slightly thinner than regular printer paper) but still possesses many of it's negative properties. I will start making tissue foil by using spray glue, tissue paper and thin foil (I have tried with heavier duty foil and it didn't go too well ). The only problem I usually get is air bubbles, but, just like with crease patterns, practice makes perfect!

Re: BlueFireOrigami's Gallery
I just use Elmers, or another water based glue, and a brush to distribute it. Spray glues tend to stick immediately, not giving much room for error

Re: BlueFireOrigami's Gallery
You should have switched papers for those two last models!
Did you manage to fold the ancient dragon without tearing the printer paper on solicited, many layered parts?

Yes, I think I should start making my own double tissue now. The ancient dragon did not rip, the paper somehow stayed strong
