I designed it in middle school like 7 or 8 years ago using box pleating. I think it was one of my first good designs, even though the legs are a little bit short. Back then I didn't make cp's for my designs, but I still have all my rough drafts and prototypes, so I can reverse engineer it for the cp. I also vaguely remember how to fold it.

I'm glad to say this will probably be the last design and the only crustacean to go into the book.

I designed the legs and body to look separated in order to make the the model more realistic. The body is suppose to hold a vertical position. The crab folded with craft paper holds the right shape better than the soft unryu. I noticed many origami crab designs have the carapace in a flat resting position against the ground; however, a crab in its natural habitat has a more uplifted posture because the water suspends it.

That's a very nice dragon, I like the simplicity of it compared to your other models!
If that was designed this month, would you like to enter it in the monthly design challenge?

Yes, I just realized it fits in this month's design challenge. I originally designed it as a special piece for a friend.
