Post by Iren Rondo »

Hello!
Well, I'm living in a little town called Ulyanovsk (Russia). I'm 16 years old. I've been folding not-my-models for 2 years, and now I'm designing origami models by myself (since July 2017).
My first design was inspired by my favourite TV-series "Twin Peaks". It's Laura Palmer. This is really easy to fold, so I have even drawn diagrams. I've used tissue to "dye" hair.

Diagrams:
https://yadi.sk/i/9POhlbEu3N84ff
That was my first design.
Later, I've designed the Ring from "Twin Peaks". 22,5 degree.

CP:

Then I've been designing really bad models so you don't need to see them.

In January 2018 I've designed replica of Michelangelo's statue David. That was really hard to shape but I'm satisfied with the result, though it has some little issues (The eyes are not very realistic). This is BP symmetrical BP 64*64. This was my first model which have detailed face, I'm proud of that technique.

CP:

Guitarist.
This has asymmetrycal 64*64 BP which have eaten my nerves a lot. That was hard to get all of the needing details. Interesting colour-change let me make such a beautiful guitar.
https://flic.kr/p/244KwW8

Little angel.
This is 64*64 BP. I've designed this for the local competition due to I won cinema ticket. Also, I've tried to make this model more realistic and made angel's lips red.

Angel.
O'kay, I've got free week, 1,5-metr golden square, qlue, roll of tracing paper and twizers. This is 128*128 BP and includes more than 300 feathers. I've been drawing CP longer than creating the model. This was a good try to make some self-destruct, self-examination and self-interest while I was folding feathers. And yes, I've made it without scissors, eyelashes were a giant flap so it was easy to make a lot of eyelashes from this stick.

https://flic.kr/p/21WTht1

Dumbo.
This is the hardest model I've created. Firstly, this is an angle technique based on 22,5 degree BUT CP includes a lot of another "interesting" angles. I asked my acquaintance to diagram it but he told me that this diagram would include more than 200 steps so he denied to diagram it.I'ts a pity. I've glued blue tissue on the eyes because when Dumbo was sitting at night in front of my bed with his red eyes I've been afraid that he's going to kill me or make Origami Riot.

Youth.
This is my last model and I've been folding it for over than 2 months. It's diagonal 128*128 BP (that was freaking awesome to deal with 1,5-metre long square again) and this was very-very HARD to shape the whole model. Actually, all of the motorbike is just a giant stick, so it was a perfect time to show my imagination. I've tried to shape this as a vintage Harley-Davidson. I'm satisfied with the result, because I wanted to express a willing of freedom, an ambition of young souls to live forever.

Well, that's all for now. I'm designing several models right now and maybe fold them tomorrow. I will be really happy if someone tries to fold my models.

Welcome to the forum and amazing designs! Especially loved the last one. I think you will be an amazing contribution to the monthly challenges in this forum. The April one will be starting pretty soon.

Also, instead of posting the urls to your photos, you can use a website like http://postimages.org/ to embed your photos into the post so people don't have to click on all the links.

Happy folding!

Or even better use the forum feature that allows to post the picture to it directly from Flickr (only the most used photo site in this forum and the same that the OP uses).

Embedding from Flickr is really easy. Instead of the direct link, choose the BBCode for middle 640x640 to post here.

Really good first designs by the way. I like the Dumbo.

New model "Joe saving Nina" or "Unique adventures of Joakin Phoenix" off the film "You were never really here" (It's being shown in cinemas in USA right now). This is 22,5 degree technique and I have posted its CP. I hope someday someone will see this movie and then fold this model.
Also, I have glued grey tissue on man's beard (because dark blue beards are not in fashion today) and more layers of cream tissue on girl's hair to make them more realistic.

Hello!
Well, this is my debut in origami challenges.
I've been thinking a lot about what to create and then I occasionally heard that Mother's day in USA is celebrated on thirteenth of May. This way I realized that between all of the origami models there are really low quantity of models dedicated to Mothers though there are incredible designs by Takeda Naoki and Neelesh K.
This is created in 22,5 degree technique. The goal was to leave the biggest amount of paper for making the fabrics. Also, I've been experimenting a lot while folding the faces, so I created new metyhod to make more detailed face.
This model took me 3 days to create the model and the whole 3 weeks to fold it. This was the hardest work I've ever done because of its shaping. The shaping is the main part of this model and it was hard to let the paper curl like the drapery.
All in all, I'm satisfied with the result, though I think it could have much more orderly fabrics with the silk paper. Maybe I'll fold this model with another paper later.

The Return.
The hardest model I've ever created. I've folded this for the monthly challenge so I'm glad this model has brought me a victory.

Neon Dancer (Axolotl).
I wanted to create this model a lot since last summer. The whole year has passed so I descided to fold it finally. Read the story written by me to get involved into this form more.

Notes:
1)Ambystoma is an animal into which the axolotl transforms.
2)Tyroxine is hormone with which help axolotl turns into ambystoma.
---
Neon Dancer.

-Wow, is this truth?
-I swear on my ambystoma's grave!
Jackie took a sip of his cocktail so it made his gills crawl. Even diluted tyroxine is dangerous.
-Hey, amigo, do you have something against Mexican teqilla? - said Jackie provocatively.
-No, I'm not a racist. - answered Will.
Will was a tiger salamander's axolotl while Jackie was a Mexican salamander's axolotl. There are a lot of disputes between axolotls about their origins.
-How's Elise? Have you made up with her?
-What?!
-How's Elise? - shouted Jack because the musicians were so loud so Will didn't hear him. Though there have been a cosy atmosphere, weeping guitar and muted sounds of synthesizers made it hard to listen to each other.
-Ay, there is nothing between us. I don't care about her. You know, the mind is more importantly than the heart so I gotta get over. There is nothing could have been between us.
-It's such a shame! - sighed Jackie. He has emptied his glass so the goosebumps covered all of his body.
-Who is there, Will?
The music has stopped for the second but then started again. A mysterous whisper swept between the dancers. One axolotl steps forward and starts dancing.
He was a little bit perculiar: he was in the nightclub but he had a scarf and a hat like he was from England. His eyes only glowed with a bright pink fire and his pupils sometimes ran all over the crowd.
-Who is there?!
-You don't know him? Well, you've been absent for a long time. He's being called Neon Dancer.
-I heard about him!
-He was popular in the prior time.
No one knows neither his name nor the place he's from. He's here since the last year. He eclipsed all of another dancers instantly so there was no one could dance better around. Everyone wanted to know something about his person, including me. I came to him on the next day and we started a dialog so we almost immediately became friends. Actually, I wasn't interested about him and his life. I was obsessed instead with his talent and wanted to know everything about it but he only smirked at me every time I asked him about his secret.
As times goes by, we kept on talking, dancing and drinking. I have to say that he was a good friend of mine though he only drank coffee. He didn't drink no cocktail with tyroxine.
But then he was lost in a couple of months. He didn't come here once, twice, three times so I started to worry about him because I understood that he has been my real friend.
I started searching him or the information about his life at least but my trials were meaningless. Everyone known him but no one had no idea as if he is healthy. No one even known as if he is alive! I was shocked that it was me who had no information about his life, too. I talked to him a lot but I have never asked no question about his personal life: who is he, what is he, has he some troubles. His life was covered with a shroud of mystery and no one wanted to take it off.
But while I was searching I found out that he has never come in cafe on morning or on afternoon. He always comes in 4 pm while the work has its ending in 5 pm...
He returned here in a month. He has changed a lot so it was hard to recall him: his gills were fallen, his voice was quiet and he looked exhausted. He was asking everyone for them to give him some money but all of the axolotls denied him. I was about to meet him but he ran away when he has seen me.An axolotl which was somewhere around me said: "The time of his dances is over".
Yeah, the time of his dances was over. I've meet poor dancer in the week. He stopped and I gave him some money. He thanked me and asked me to be at 7 pm in the other café. I was glad I occasionaly found him so I decided to come in right place at right time.
He was ashamed and didn't want to tell the whole story but I didn't need it. I understood everything without the words. I' ve noted that he didn't have a couple of his gills and his pink skin turned into white. I invited him to drink with me some "cocktail with tyroxine" and his eyes got its overwhelming fire for a moment again when I said these words. We drank some coffee and went away.
He came again in this club in a few months. He eclipsed all of the dancers again. The biggest part of the guys was new but I heard the quiet whispers: "Look, it's Neon Dancer!". He's got a new couple of gills so there were no trails of his past life.
Jackie looked on Neon Dancer. Everyone was already dancing but his scarf was making Neon Dancer unique so it was hard to not to see him. Really, Jackie noted the scars on his gills, noted his madly pupils running all over the crowd , noted his desire to look like nothing serious happened. His eyes were filled with fire of life and its ashes.
-What a strength of will! - said Jackie enthusiastically.
-Yeah... - said Will pensively as his gills has spinned around visionary.

Edward Scissorhands.
I adore this film a lot. Johnny Depp gave his stunning performance and Tim Burton created wonderful world in which he satirically showed our society.
That was a relly hard to create white face with black hair and add some rings on his body. While the face is a real colour change the rings are just the elements of the shaping.
