My website devoted to trying to create new models.

Post by CharlesWallace »

To the degree any web site is ever finished, I just completed mine devoted to my initial progress in creating my own models. I hope you will drop in for a visit and, if so inclined, and leave a little feedback. (And, yes, the site includes a statement about my commitment to the privacy for others' identity and shared content.) I'll also try to pop in to The Origami Forum from time to time see if any messages are directed to me there.

Here's the link: https://paulshoffman.wixsite.com/origamihakken

Wishing happy folding and clever creasing to all!

I really like the original concept of your web site. I personally think it would be more interesting to concentrate on the process, probably organizing the images from one version to the next of the same project (model) and probably talking more about the how, and why you tried a particular change between one version and the other. I think it would also be nice to see an "end" to the process; when you declare that a particular model is ready. After watching your site I left with the question: when one of your projects stops being a work in progress if it ever does?

I also wonder if a website was the best platform for this project, instead of for example a Flickr or an Instagram account.

I really enjoyed reading the My "Process" web page. Aside from having some quite interesting information, it was also witty :D.

Thank you for your feedback, Gerardo.
You have some very good "transitional" (beginning to end) ideas for the work I am doing on models. For now,i just needed to get something up anywhere that people could see it, but I like you ideas about documenting changes and the overarching process as I move forward over the longer term.

I would also appreciate suggestions--and I know you have already sent me one :) --from other readers as to active Origami forum where I can call attention to my work (nascent though some of it is) to get feedback and share ideas about origami.

Happy folding to all,
Paul
