Post pictures of origami objects

Post by Brimstone »

That's it. No animals, no fantasy creatures, no humans. Just objects and don't try to be funny with "this is an extraterrestrial object found..." or that kind of comments.

I'll start with my newest creation, a Yo-yo:

That Yo-yo is cool, looks like you used the idea of "Spring into Action" for creating it, right?
Have you tried to actually use it? :-)
So long and keep folding ^_^

Spring into action uses 12 sides and I only used 8 but you are right it uses the same type of "iris closure"

I don't know how, but I've got the vague feeling that the Hourglass is a variation of your Yo-Yo

You are dead wrong. I was trying to develop an hourglass but I used a "perfect" iris closure, so the top and bottom come too close, so the model did not fit as an hourglass, but only as a yo-yo. Then I modified the iris closure and obtained what I was looking for.

In fact the yo-yo is a byproduct of the hourglass.

But hey this is not a thread to display my creations, it was intended to display objects, so come on people, post pictures of objects made out of origami!!!

Yes, I am that Joseph Wu. Not that it really matters. And please call me Joseph or Joe. "Mr. Wu" is my dad. :)

Total hip replacement (and proximal shaft of femur following osteotomy). Before and after athroplasty.

This model is currently displayed in the medical journal 'Injury', if anyone has access to a hospital library.
I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.
