There are 2 main things that I see right away. The tail is kind of spread out near its base, and the pose of the phoenix is awkward. It looks like it's about to do a backflip, which is fine, but it doesn't have the majesty and pride that are associated with phoenixes. Very well folded, though-good job with the wing structure. Oh, and one last small thing-the claws should be 3 in front and one in back, not all 4 in front.

I get what you mean, but the type of paper is really bad, and I can't get good paper lately, It is like trying to fold something with a napkin.. :?

EDIT

Just like you advised Jon, I reshaped the tail, bent back the claw of the phoenix, and tried to improve the pose of the phoenix. The only thing I am dissapointed about are the wings and shoulder. In the video of Kamiya and his phoenix, the wings raise up high above its neck, and spreads out beautifully, but my wings look as if they are about to flap..

Very cool, it looks much better. I know what you mean about paper-I have folded with foil all my life and I am at a point where its shortcomings are really holding me back. I am living in a college dorm, too, so I don't really have the space to make tissue foil/backcoated paper. I am going to try to catch up over the summer.

Jon, could you perhaps predict what kind of paper I am using, it is like tissue paper but not that thin, It has a smoth texture on one side and rough on the other, it comes in a roll, and is very delicate and sensitive.

Probably not-I am not very knowledgeable about different kinds of paper. Maybe it is a kind of wrapping paper or some other kind of decorative paper?

Maybe mulberry, unryu, or crepe paper?

I am pretty sure it is mullberry paper, it has the white cotton stuff in it as well as texture. Here is my third, and probablly last attemp of folding Phoenix 3.5. I know I have been folding phoenixes too much lately, so this will probably be the last time folding Phoenix 3.5 for the while. This one is by far the best phoenix I have made, and a tried to make it as good as Kamiya's Phoenix, and it turned out pretty good! :D

I decided to fold Kamiya's ancient dragon again, but with better paper. I managed to get better pictures, and they turned out pretty good.

I designed an origami peacock, though it does need a bit of work, I am glad how it turned out!

Hi! To some users and origami friends of mine, I want to let you know I wont be on the forum for a week and 4 days because I am finally visiting China! I will miss this place and all of you origamists, but I will continue to fold origami in China and bring back any cool things I learned in CHina!

I'll try! Maybe my dad could bring his laptop, so I might not be away on the forum for so long after all!
