Over the weekend I folded Dracula out of some crappy paper. Only issue I had was with the front of his jacket thingy, how did you split the point there?

To be honest, Juston, I simply had no clue where to start (after pre-creasing the CP). Should I simply pre-crease the whole CP and start collapsing from the edges, or should I fold it into some classical bases and then work from that? Doodling around with it got me nowhere, hehe.

orion119net - I've uploaded a quick diagram for that section of the model on my flickr photostream. Here it is for anyone who hasn't seen it yet...

Image

1. Rabbit ear the short flap.
2. Pull out paper from under the rabbit ear.
3. Unsink paper from the top of the rabbit ear.
4. Squash fold the central flap.
5. Tuck in the resultant flaps (one to the left and one to the right).
6. Done!

Adam - Precreasing the whole thing and collapsing it from the edges isn't a bad way to do it. I do it pretty much the same way (I haven't actually worked out a proper, sequential folding method for this model yet), except I start from the point marked with the X and work my way out. Also, you can safely ignore precreasing the lines marked in green... they'll form naturally has you flatten the arms against the body.

Thank you for further clarifying the CP, Juston. I'll give it another go as soon as my fever's over :)

Yes, they are... and they're the first dollar bill fold I've ever designed (apart from my modification of Elias's elephant). I tried to make them look like the centaurs that appear on ancient Greek pottery... sort of angular, with pointy beards and long hair.

Two more dollar bill models... a Przewalski's Horse and a unicorn (folded from white paper cut to the proportions of a dollar bill).

All right, time to dust off my gallery and see if I can't get my page count up to Joshua Goutam-style numbers.

Okay, April fools on that one... that kid's a force of nature, no mere mortal could match his output. Here's my latest, a bat designed for Tadashi Mori's (http://www.youtube.com/user/tadashimori) second origami challenge. I'll put the link up for the voting video when he posts it.

In other news I'm still working on a couple of new models that aren't attached to any particular challenge... but as always, without the pressure of a deadline, I take too long designing and worrying over every little thing. I'm going to try to get better about that... or maybe I'll just make up fake deadlines in my head.

Also, I may (possibly maybe) get something published in Creased magazine (http://www.creased.com/). I'll keep you updated.

Man, there sure were a lot of bats submitted... I don't feel so original anymore.
