Test fold of Brian Chan's Hermit crab.

From a CP. I thought it was remarkably easy. Used a 15cm piece of kami though so it was sort of (really) terrible for shaping and thinning of the appendages.

Thank you Geek.

New design by me.
A Griffin!
Story is, my high school's mascot is a Griffin and my friend had been bugging me for 3 years to make her one but I never could. So one day I got fed up with her so I came up with this design quite quickly. I'm proud of it.

Inspiration was John Montroll.

For anyone who wants to try to fold my Griffin I came up with, here:

It's a blintzed crane base. For those wondering.

That's great! It's an actual good base for anything with 4 legs, wings, tail and a head. Unfortunately my design is much like making a swan out of a crane base I realize.
It's simplistic base and design allow others to fold it just by looking at my picture. But oh well. I haven't seen anything like it and I am proud of the shaping regardless.

Long time no see. I remember you used to comment in my gallery thread, way back when I was last active on this forum.

You've got a lot of nice folds here!

Nice attempt at Gabriel, I love the idea of that model but I've always had trouble shaping it nicely too.
When I folded it I sort of opened the wings out by pulling the pleating apart along the edge, and leacing it pleated where it meets the body.

I like your griffin! I've got a gryphon design of my own that also uses a blintzed bird base, but I sink the middle point and use it upside down to get quite a different shape than your one. I should take some photos to show you.

Sorry. It's been a long time since I updated. Lost time because of school.

Folded this today. I finished it up with a bit of water. Shoved papertowel in the body and tied strings around the limbs and body at multiple places. About 10 paper clips used. Then let it dry in the sun. Took everything off and I have to say that for my first big paper fold of Satoshi's Smilodon. Originally memorized it by folding several times out of printer paper.

Davor Vinko's Scarab from CP
I added the wings instead of a third pair of legs. To be different.
