You nailed it Gache!
Very nice! And that was quick too!
Love the mane, snout, ears, colours, colour-changes and posture of the legs.
Great work!!!
Now I may have to refine mine to be less static...

Thanks Quentin - sometime one gets lucky, otherwise it would've taken weeks before I could show anything for my efforts... I like his snout best, I had more paper left there than anticipated, so it got nicely long and thin.

Given that I haven't got a colour change for the mane either, I much prefer the closed back of yours - I can't have it all ;)

(if you ever change your mind for a diagram, hint hint...)

nice to see that at least there's someone else interested in japanese mythology ...
my kappa's just watching from a pond - still i did not manage to design a body for his head.

In japanese culture in general :)

I haven't seen your kappa head - if i's too hard to give it a body from a square, you can always try with other aspect ratios. After a while the format becomes less and less of a difficulty.

Nice ! I agree, a body would give it additional legibility though, as it is a bit abstract on its own. You could even make it a two sheet model...

IMO, this is the best octopus designed ever. It's so beautiful!! I am currently designing an octopus right now but I don't know how I can top that!
