Orimin

Post by Orimin »

Hello everyone!

I am 18 years old last year school student from Lithuania. I started folding origami several years ago and now I am trying do design something on my own. I wanted to hear other people opinion about my works that's why I decided to upload some of my models photos here.
Mostly I like more abstract origami where you can accentuate the part of animal that looks most beautiful for you, like wings or tail, not paying much attention to realism. Probably because of that my favourite origami designer is Joseph Wu.
I would like to thank for everyone who will spend their time looking through my photos and commenting, thank you guys I really appreciate this.
All my works are dedicated to my amazing girlfriend Laura, she always inspires me =)

I will start with one of my older designs Gryphon:

I would love to fold both of them.
They look quite simple, but it would be a pleasure.
Well done so far. =D>

The woodpecker looks like its made out of a "windmill" base, right?

You are quite right, it uses windmill base molecules for wings and legs, but the base is highly modificated. I got it experimenting with paper at school looking for right base good for birds. In fact there is some unused paper inside the model and by changing proportions a bit you can make bigger wings and longer head, but I leave this for future birds designs.
