hahaha, books are awesome, and i need some new ones. everything i have i am
a) incapable of making due to a lack of useful paper
or
b) its too long and i'm too lazy to make it
I recently ordered tanteidan convention 16 and 50+ hours of origami so hopefully i will be able to make some stuff from those soon.

But yes, i am.

What do 22.5 degree angles do? I've never seen any explanations for them or how to use them.

It's just a way of designing the model so the creases radiate at multiples of 22.5deg. I'm actually trying to get better at it myself right now.

Personally, I like 22.5 and circle packing better than box pleating, although the references may be harder.

its just a lot less precreasing and its more efficient.

That's why I don't design as much 22.5deg as I do BP. Plus I feel BP improves patience simply because some of those CPs are just insane to collapse. (I designed an asymmetrical angel two days ago, and just the left shoulder must have taken half an hour to get right.)
