Hello everybody!

I started this topic to share some of my recent creations. I've been creating models since 2006. Some of them can be found on my old and lost and unupdated flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/origamis.

Let's start...

Gorilla, opus 22.

At first I was trying to create a lion but I just couldn't figure it out using that base. So, the model's head turned into a very detailed gorilla's head. When the base is collpased there are 5 small superimposed flaps that turn into mouth, eyes, elbows, nose, forehead, cheeks and the head itself. The body is still too thin... I shall improve it in another version. I classify this model as intermediate.

Here is the CP if you want to give a try. Strong black lines are mountain folds; light gray lines are valley folds. Most references can be found on a 12x12 grid (find the thirds and then the fourths)

Saint Bernard Dog.

So this is my new model. At first I tried a color-changed design, but I failed, I realized that I would have to change its base from scratch.

The CP has some 30º lines and grids (hexpleating?) and also a little boxpleating. There it is:

Thanks! I have lots of models already created, but too little time to fold a decent piece and take shots and post them.

European Rhinoceros Beetle

This is my first well-succeed beetle, also my first well-succeed hexpleated model.

I know, its "body" looks too flat. I might fix it in a upcoming 1.1 version or just by shaping it better...

Humpback Whale.





Actually, this model is a derivated from my blue whale design... I changed the middle part of its body, elongated those pins and added a few more tubercles. Their CP are very similar. I did a blog post about it.

Hercules Beetle, opus 27 - Dynastes hercules

That's something I've created these days. I used both 22.5° and 30° techniques, on a modified blitz base.

Nice designs! The Hercules beetle's prothorax seems a little long, but I like the look it gives the model.

Hey, thanks! Yep, there's a problem with its body. t's too long. Perhaps, a better shaping could improve it... I think its main structure is fine.
