Monster Love

I am new to the forum and have just starting designing models. I thought it would be a good idea to try this out to practice designing. First time posting pics, hope this works!

This model draws from Joseph's Wu's warai design (which i just love). I actually intended them to be robots but they ended up looking so similar to the warai : )

And brief disclaimer: Since I'm new here, I'm not sure what is proper etiquette regarding borrowing from or adapting someone else's design. This is clearly different, but obvious similarities. Hoping this is okay : )

I also put some red paper in the heart which really makes it stand out. Kind of cheating, so this one doesn't count : )

Love all the designs so far! The siamese twins are insane! So cool!

Haha, I always look at pictures before text, and when I saw your picture, I immediately though "warai!" I really like them!! Well done!

Unfortunately I didn't have proper white paper. Now I know what to do with those pink squares! Just put the color inside the model! ;)

Yes, one uncut square.
Also, my first design using circle packing.

Oh, Jesus Christ, Jared.... ..that paper looks amazing... I like the model, but maybe some more thinning in the legs? Though from your comment, the paper size may have made it too tough to do :/.

Overall, nicely done, though!

Huh, Rod? I don't think anything particularly inspired me. I just wanted to fold something fairly simple. I guess it's kinda similar to Quentin's Comedy/Tragedy masks.

Insaneorigami, the paper couldn't handle any more. I MCd a sheet of the same paper and I'll try folding it soon.

Thank you so much!

Congratulations to everyone else who participated, there have been some great models.

I will be glad to judge this month's topic and come up with a new one for march.
