Chris -> I'll do it if you want--I need more designing practice anyway. If you make a topic, I'll gladly do it.
Maybe someone else could enter too to make things more interesting. :D

I'd definitely be interested in some informal dueling too.
We should probably start a new thread for this rather than clogging up the Tournament discussion.

Is there anyone else who's no longer in the competition (or wasn't in the first place) who would like to do an informal duel? It would probably be over a slightly longer period - maybe 6 weeks instead of 3.
Great idea! Would it be like this, following a pattern, or would it be,' hey, I'll post on this thread and someone will pick another random person doing the same as me and we'll duel', so more continous and open ended?
Ahh, sorry, clogging up topic, right, sorry, drat. #-o

Hello everyone,

Please have your entries in by the end of today (I guess "today" varies between timezones) and try to have the poll up by the end of the 11th. Personally, I have to wait until after work until I can post my model. I did not send out mass PMs every week this time, sorry about that. If anyone is having troubles because of this please just post it here.

Try to get your polls to end on the 18th or close to it for anyone with an open poll.

I talked about this before but in the end there were no draws so it was not an issue. I suspect we would keep the poll open a bit longer if possible and try to draw extra traffic to the post to see who people think should win. I do not think something like a coin toss would be acceptable, and I would rather not just leave the final decision to one person in the event of a tie.

How about a short (3-4 days) Tiebreaker round? It can be the same topic and rules.

I do not know how you design, but between work (or school for some), other obligations, and that it usually takes a while for me to finish a model, 3-4 days would be impossible. If the opponent in the draw agrees to a 3-4 days quick challenge, I would not stop you, but if they do not have the time I do not think this would be a fair approach.

I guess you are right even i dont design so quickly. There seems to be no way to proceed without a method being unfair to either folder. Does anyone else have suggestions on how to settle a draw?

Also just a quick update,
Tonight when I get home I will see the winners of each poll and put up the next round bracket.

*Actually it looks like we are in the middle of a tie, between the one asking about a tie all day nonetheless!

On a side note, try not to leave brackets open ended. I always post the dates for each section clearly for everyone to follow as best as they can.

I believe the round is over now. The tie was broken by 1 vote.
