Hey malifold. Does are some interesting topics but I have some questions before I choose. For nr.2: doe you mean for example 1 square for an insect and the second for a branch or leaf for it to sit on?
For nr3: I'm not sure what you mean by 'sculpture'. Something abstract? Or a origami version of a sculpture.
Please let me know so I can choose a topic and start brainstorming!

For 2 yes, that could work, or like a man and a woman, joisel's musicians
for 3, either one.

Ok thanks. I choose nr 2 then, (two in two, make two complementary models from two sheets). Are multiple entries allowed? Not sure if I'll manage a second entry since I'll be designing two things for this topic already, but just to make sure. But I would like to keep the possibility open if that's ok with you?

Cape buffalo and oxpecker by roodborst078, on Flickr

Origami Cape Buffalo and Oxpecker
Designed and Folded by Roodborst

Cape buffalo from a 45cm x 45cm square of triple tissue.
Oxpecker from a square of 3cm x 3cm of tissue foil.

The Cape Buffalo and the Oxpecker live in symbiose with oneanother. The oxpecker eats the flies from the buffalo, thus both species benefit from each other.

ODST 2013 Hermite Crab and Sea Anemone by roodborst078, on Flickr

Origami Hermite Crab and Sea Anemone.
Crab from a 40cm square of tissue foil.
Anemone from a 30 cm square of tissue foil.

The hermite crab grabs a anemone and places it on his shell to protect himself from octopus attacks. The anemone rides on his back capturing food for himself. This is also a Symbiose just as with the buffalo and oxpecker.

Just in time!
I've got 3 entries:

1) Ezekiel 39:16 : "Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions"

Image

The two sticks

2) Love. Made with printing paper (A4) at the last minute while tired, so it looks pretty crappy :(

Image

3) Cut and paste:

Image

The cut and paste operations live in symbiosis with each other, for the paste function needs items on the clipboard, and the cut function needs to do something other than delete stuff. They also live in symbiosis with people doing reports at the last minute about topics on Wikipedia :D
2 squares of foil, boxpleated in a 16x16 grid, 20x20 cm.

Nice models, roodborst, and good luck (but not too much  )

Hey Malifold, I'm glad you made some models in the nick of time. It would have been pretty boring to get through to the next round, without a proper challenge.
I think you have to make the poll, because you started the topic. If not, please explain how I can make a poll.

And good luck to you to (but not to much haha  :D)

Thanks, it's from two squares, one for the anemone shell the other for the crab. But it has been over a half year since I folded this, so can't remember what I did.
