Origami Soccerball Challenge

Post by NavesinkVulcan »

Hello. I've recently noticed that the diagrams link to Mark Leonard's soccer ball is broken. IMO, this model is too cool for that, so I've made tutorials showing how to do it. I previously had four videos up, but I redid two of them. I'm having trouble embedding them, so I'm just going to post the link to all four videos. Enjoy this challenge and sorry for any inconvenience

Thanks for the links, Stacy. IMO, I thought Mark Leonard could have gone into more detail about the hexagonal pockets touching in one spot around each pentagon. I've found that this spot plays a critical role in correctly assembling the pentagons (My assembly tips video goes into this further.) I came across a video where the instructor was unaware of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V0JTZeFDns At around 08:43 he says there may be some instances where pentagon flaps and pockets run into each other. He suggests turning the flap into a pocket, but this is not necessary if the pentagons are assembled carefully.
