odt4 - round 1 - akugami vs. malifold

Post by akugami »

so here are my three topic suggestions to choose from:

1) autumn : fold a model that represents the season we're faced with right now (leaves, fruit, rain ...)

2) house: fold some kind of origami architecture, no matter if it's a farmer's hut or a great lord's castle

3) woman: whereas a woman's often portrayed in painting or sculpture there are just a few interpretations in origami art - so just design your own origami woman

there are global rules to follow (one square, no cuts or glue, ...) so i don't want to add something new.
if ever possible for you to do, please don't do multiple submissions. the end of round 1 was set to the middle of october? so we have about 3 weeks to get our submission ready (last day to post will be october 7) and one more week to run the poll (october 8 to october 13).

please choose a topic now. i wish you a good idea and a lot of fun with folding it into a new piece of origami art!

I would prefer to be allowed to fold multiple models. If so, I pick 1, if not , I pick 2. Your call, and good luck!

maybe my english isn't good enough to explain my thoughts ...
if you need more than just one sheet of paper to fold a house, we can easily do that but i'd like to call this a "modular submission". with multiple submission i mean more than just one model and this it what i'd like to avoid. if someone has to fold as much models as possible for each topic she/he may do that, but has to dicide her-/himself for just the one that's obviously the most impressive. i wouldn't join a speed challenge - at my level of design experience i need some time to get something worthy to publish ...

well, to me my english is like a car you drive just once or twice a year - it doesn't drive well, but thanks for your credits.
so we're going to fold a house. i'm curious to see your idea about this.

Progress pics to prove that i am making a model from one square

I proposed extending the deadline on the main thread, seeing as nobody almost has posted a model.

unfortunately i did not find the time to design/fold anything for this challenge. so if an extension of time is possible, i will try to get something, otherwise you'll win this round ...

Falling water.
Originally designed by frank loyd wright. 70x70 cm, 48x48 grid. The modelis red and white.
Designed by free folding trying to get segments of the house, and getting the raw edges to line up. A real pain

Another view. http://pliagedepapier.com/gallery/album ... age~10.jpg

Sorry for the urls, i have had problems reducing imaze size enough.

Akugami, you've got until tonight to post a model. Sorry i couldn't answer earlier.

i wish you good luck for the next steps in this challenge.
