Re: deer cp challenge!
you are in some sort of confusion. Its a reference. Why do you think its an approximation?

Re: deer cp challenge!
Assuming the square I was referencing before is actually 9/20 (=> the square is 1unit long):mir numaan wrote:you are in some sort of confusion. Its a reference. Why do you think its an approximation?
Using your reference:
θ = 22.5°,
x = 0.5,
y = z + (0.5)(x - z),
z = tanθ.
So,
y = tanθ + (0.5)(0.5 - tanθ)
≈ 0.414213562 + (0.5)(0.5 - 0.414213562)
≈ 0.414213562 + (0.5)(0.085786437)
≈ 0.414213562 + 0.042893218
≈ 0.457106781
So if I was correct in saying the square in reference was 9/20 in length, it should be 0.45 precisely.
However, your "reference" doesn't come to that conclusion. It is simply an approximation in my books.
Note: To determine the square length I used a computer and the original CP and found to the pixel that it was 135 long. The crease pattern was 300. 135/300 => 9/20.
Feel free to point out where I did my math wrong or I am mistaken with the true proportion of the CP.

a) I remained calm throughout the ordeal.
b) It's not the first time you've pulled a "reference" out of nowhere.
Kafar's reference is much closer. The error being un-marked on a ruler with a 15cm square.

No, you posted an incorrect reference and proceeded to call the other person rude when he went to the effort to post a detailed reply. He's referring to the reference you posted in regards to Friedman's songbird.
I'd say you're the one being rude here.

I must say, Mir, Your being a bit rude here. But to solve all the problems, I folded the deer with your reference and found all the references correctly.

Is it just me, or this guy is so rude and annoying that it makes me stay away from this forum.
