Weekly Design Challenge

Friendly design and folding competitions.

Do you think the models should be chosen each week for people to design?

Poll ended at December 31st, 2013, 6:25 pm

No. It limits creativity and some people may not be able to design that specific model.

I'd like to participate! And I think you should make a new topic, each participant will suggest topics and there will be a poll to select the topic. I'd start it today if I were you and run it till monday.
We're all stories in the end.

Be sure to include the monthly challenge in the subjects, that might boost participation a little

Some very broad themes I thought of:
Time, death, logos, geography, models made from [insert paper format here], the sky (Anything you can see in the sky), underground, everyday actions (something you do everyday, like Hermann van Goubergen's ,,Reading the newspaper''.
I don't think that I'l participate because I suck at designing.

I think I'll start them.
Rules (Please reply if you don't like a rule)
-One or more regular convex shapes (Square, Rectangle, Hexagon, etc.) There will be challenges where you'll need to use a specific paper format.
-Cutting and glueing are strictly prohibited. For modulars you'll have to design a locking mechanism.
-The model doesn't have to be on the right theme, it's just to give you ideas, but it would be nice if it would.
-MC allowed.
-The model has to be original.
In total there will be 52 challenges this year.
The challenge starts on Monday and it ends on Sunday in the next week. We already are in the 2nd week so you'll have to design 3 models by the 19th. Everyone that submits a model makes a suggestion for next week's theme. On Sunday we start a poll and the best theme will be chosen. You can submit more than a model/week and by that you can still win the whole challenge. At the end of the year we count our design and know by that who the winner is. We can choose the best model too, if you want.
These are just the rules i thought of, reply if you don't like them.

I fear I'm already many weeks behind even though I managed to have at least one new model design this year.
