Sorry for the lack of explanation. As much as we are free to understand the topic in our own ways, I thought I could understand 'Darkness' as 'Death'. And in our country(and for some of eastern countries), 'Lion' means 'Messenger of Death(=Grim Reaper)'. I'm in middle of a test season so I wasn't able to fold the whole body, though. Would that answer your 'question' ?akugami wrote:so, where's the darkness in a lion head? just the picture quality is in lack of light ...

Medusa 2.2
(Submitted before 23:30 EST, if it affects eligibility)
The shaping isn't the best, but it wasn't completely done drying

Re: monthly folding challenge june 2015
The day of judgement is here.
First off it is great too see that there are a lot of entries this months, you really gave me a hard time judging.
Foldtastic: Black square, really funny entry!
Firstfold: "Dark helmut". Very original design, I like it that he can put the visor of his helmet up and it appears to be "harry Potter", I haven't seen the movie though.
Lephantome: "medusa" 2 versions. I cannot imagine how you managed to get that many tentacles from a square
JAPC: "Sr Caveira" Very nice design and pictures.
Origamipete: "dark monster" This thing looks really complex, it must have taken a lot of time to fold.
Greencube: "Lion face" This is an excellent lion face, I can't wait to see if you can design an entire lion, but as mentioned in the comments, I'm not sure if it fits the topic.
3th place goes too:
Lephantome: For having the guts to hurry and meet the deadline, and for the potential of some future version of his medusa.
2th place goes too:
Origamipete: A really complex looking dragon creature that suits the topic. Nice and scary.
And 1 place goes too..........................................................................
JAPC: Sr Caveira. I fell in love with these guy(s). The model is not so complex but I really like the curved shaping on the model. The picture is also very good. After seeing the photo, the first thing I thought was that these where the badguys in the next disney movie, all three guys have a different character. Very well done, congratulations, you will be the judge for next months challenge and you can pick the topic the month after that.

Re: monthly folding challenge june 2015
I wasn't sure my second version would truly qualify! Thank you for the placing, roodborst! As for all the points, v1 will definitely be in this year's Christmas book, and 2.2 might be in, as well as progress pics (akin to Anermak's Mantis Shrimp diagrams).
Re: monthly folding challenge june 2015
Wow! thank you so much roodborst. This was a really nice challenge with plenty good entries.
Congratulations to all participants
