We should have a fold off

Post by stuckie27 »

I suggest the members of this forum all try to create a simple piece of origami like a penguin, or a bird, somthing that can easily be realised.

It would be a contest, we could all share design notes and ideas and each come up with a seperate design.

I could exibit the final designs and the thoughts everybody has on my website.

What do you guys think? This would be a perfect time for all of the folders out there that fold strickly from diagrams to bud out and try somthing different.

What sould the object be?

I think its a great idea. Maybe something that is not usually seen in origami...

I like the idea, although I think that creativity can't be forced. I mean if somebody wasn't able to create something until now, he probably won't be able to do it for that reason.

until now I've only created three models, a bill-heart, an icarus and a cd-case. so what have you created?

greetings

I accept the challenge.
Here it is!
A "monk key" *dies laughing*

It's only there temporarily, though.
Another interesting idea, not quite as good as the monkey-
What about folding the New Year Baby?

tonight, I've created a "spiked heart". it was influenced by my last two girlfriends... somehow like "why don't you just stick needles into my heart, to give me a quick death?!"

I have folded this heart from foiled tissue-paper, but created it from "normal" paper.

Both of those are very creative and interesting, and nice color choices too :) . Well I have made my first try at a monkey design as seen below (or if not showing, on my site under gallery, Monkey v.2.0)

Great first try. The facial features are very good. I certainly see the possibility of a see no evil... model.
You could probably make some sort of off-center blintzed bird base to lengthen the tail and the head, althoug the head looks great now.

Thanks :D ,it is made from an alternating blintzed frog and bird base. The tail is actually as long as the legs, but I used it as a support for the photo.
