there are many different kinds of mythical creatures that are considered dragons. some have no wings, or no legs, or more closely resemble snakes and serpents. So I at least definitely see your entry as draconic looking

Yes, very nice job to Meryl, Jek, and Tony. =D>

And for everybody else, your time is half way up! Let's see how many entries we can get this month.

Just, checking, but I'm allowed to make two entries, correct?

Um... I guess?

Since your other entry was a dragon, why don't you do an insect for your second one?

An insect was the plan...I wasn't going to put two entries in, but I was playing around with some paper and an beetle magically appeared... I wish that sort of thing would happen more often :)

Here is my 4 headed dragon that I folded from a 50x50cm square sheet of kraft paper. Uses a 48x48 grid. Managed to come up with this in 3-4 hours but might post a better version at the end of the month

Nice work so far, everybody!
As I promised, here is what I believe to be the only insect design in this post so far:

Quite a successfull turnout of five entries, at least compared to last month's results. Congratulations and many thanks to those of you who went through the effort to submit a design! Also, it is evident that dragons are more popular to design than insects; a question I've been wondering for a while.

I know there is still one more day left of December and of 2017, but I'm going to be out of town soon so I'll have to wrap this up today. These were all great models, but the winner this month is going to be Merlyngami's dragon.

There are two main reasons why that dragon in particular stood out from the others. First, the scales on the chest gave it some nice detail, and second, the translucent green paper was perfect for creating the feeling of a thin and delicate wing, like a bat. Meryln will be judging the January challenge and creating the February Challenge.

Please delete the post if I'm wrong, but seeing that there was no winner last month, I will create the January Topic.
