This must be your revenge for my nixing plants in the December challenge, haha!
I'll go against my natural inclination and pick Stars.
1 month from today, January 17th as deadline good with you?

Yes. My apologies for the late reply. For some reason this didn't come up as unread on my app.

HERE we are! My design, which I titled Watchtower Modular:
ImageOrigami Watchtower Modular by Travis Nolan, on Flickr
30 sheets of 3 inch kami, no cuts, glue, or paint. 22.5 degree design.

It was weird to design a modular. Harder than I thought it would be for sure. Not sure if it is technically a kusudama - what distinguishes a modular from a kusudama? Anyone know?

I will set up the poll tonight or tomorrow probably. Nice work!

Actually, never mind. I forgot - I can't set up the poll since you started the thread. It can only be set up by the person who started the thread

I love your modular ball. The inner rings are wonderfully neat and the white in the centre does make it look spiky and star like. Excellent model.

I have tried to work it out, but I have no idea how to add a poll to my first post.

If you go in as if to edit the post, there’s an option for poll creation at the bottom.

To my knowledge, if it resembles a ball then it is a kusudama in origami terms. In that sense, all those 30 unit models like this one are kusudamas. If someone thinks differently, I'd love to know :).
