ODT#7 Round 2: Folderp vs NeverCeaseToCrease

Hello,
I'm not sure which contestant is supposed to propose the three topics. Here are my three, if it doesn't matter who does it:

Household objects
Invertebrate or plant marine life
Human characters, fictional or real

I think one month should be enough. Does that sound fine?

[Edit:] For reference, here are the two entries in the order they were submitted:

Hmm, I thought I was supposed to propose topics. Hey, Baltorigamist, does it matter who chooses? And who's supposed to choose? One month after a topic is determeined sounds good though.

From ODT #7 original topic:
Baltorigamist wrote:The "higher" seed in the duel suggests three topics, and the other person will choose one. The chosen topic is then used for that duel.(...)
Which means it might be Folderp who presents the three topics.
(But I'm not an official from that contest in any way, so...)

The higher seed is supposed to propose the topics, and the lower seed chooses one.

Okay, the topics are:
1. Exotic birds
2. Music
3. Steampunk
Sorry for the challenging topics but I think you're in need of a challenge and I need motivation for completing one. Even I have no Idea how to approach these yet.

I'll choose music. Is Monday, January 14 a fair due date?

Yep, that sounds good. Squares only, or are rectangles allowed?

I would say just squares, and only one sheet. Otherwise it'd be too easy I think.

The time is about halfway up. Here is my entry:

This young man is a ukelele player. He was folded from a 32x32 grid on a square of calligraphy paper. He has a nice jacket with a collared shirt inside and a mop of shaggy hair. He also has a tie, but it's very hard to see. He's also got some nice shoes and pants.

Darn. I'll never be able to beat that (but I'll keep trying anyway :D ).

Finally, after going up and down a few design alleyways, I made this Cellist.

They're not great pictures, and the model looks much better in real life. Just so you know it has all the features you'd expect on a cellist. And yes, that is a hand holding the neck of the cello.

This is the first uniaxially boxpleated model I have designed. I'll share some form of cp sometime. I'll also post some pictures of the test folds leading up to this and of the other 7 models (yes, 7) that I designed before this one sometime soon.

Nice design, and just in time! I guess voting starts now? How long should it be open for?
